How Alternative Septic Systems Work 

An alternative septic system is any type of system other than the conventional type of septic tank that uses gravity to move effluent. There are several types of alternative systems that can be used, depending on the type of property and local regulations. Where to Install Alternative Septic Systems 

When the time comes to install a septic system, you may find that a conventional septic tank with a leachfield is not suitable for your property. This can happen in forested areas, where there is bedrock, or the soil is not deep enough to install a conventional septic tank.
